At Servico Freight Services, our seasoned staff guide you on how to minimize your relocation expenses.
If you are a Pakistani citizen or Dual National, these are the following conditions you must meet in order to gain customs duty and tax concessions:
- Returning Pakistani nationals who have lived abroad for two years or more, in the country of shipment departure, are eligible for claiming Transfer of Residence concessions. Used household goods such as furniture, crockery, kitchenware and clothing are released duty free by Customs upon qualification for TR concessions.
- Duties and taxes are applicable on electrical appliances whether used or new.
- Consignees claiming Transfer of Residence concessions must confirm that during the past 2 years their total stay in Pakistan has not exceeded 120 Days. This is reflected in passport arrival/departure stamps. If their total duration of stay exceeds 120 days, they would not qualify to claim TR concessions on their household goods. Subsequently, all items would be subject to Customs duty.
- Consignee’s passport must show travel records of the last two years to/from Pakistan. In case of a new Passport, old passport must also be attached.
- 15 Days Shipment Deadline: All household goods shipments must be shipped from origin port/airport within 15 days of consignee’s arrival in Pakistan. For e.g. if the Consignee returns back to Pakistan on 1st January, their shipment should be shipped from origin port prior to the 15th of January. This must reflect in their Bill of Lading /AWB.
